Alanya is located about 130 km southeast of the provincial capital with the Antalya Airport and 40 km away from the Airport Gazipasa.
The town occupies the southern end of the main tourist towns along the endless sandy beaches of the Turkish Riviera with the famous Cleopatra Beach, making it the ideal starting point for excursions to the "original" Turkey without having to abandon the well developed infrastructure of well-developed coastal cities.
The city is located on a small peninsula where extends the Taurus Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea in the south to the north.
Alanya is a very popular holiday destination with its admirable beaches, modern hotels, numerous fish restaurants, cafes, clubs and bars. The coffee houses surrounding the harbor are the most popular meeting places for tourists and residents. From the lovely Park beginning, along the harbor small shops lie side by side, where handicrafts, leather goods, jewelry, bags and painted with bright colors pumpkins are sold beside typical turkish restaurants, bars an cafes.
In this region are located next three beaches which are awarded with the Blue Flag, a Damlataş Cave (stalactite cave), the Archaeology and Ethnology Museum, the Dim cave, the cave Fosforlu, the Kızlar and Aşıklar caves.

Die Stadt Alanya an der Südküste der Türkei ist ein Gebiet, wie es gegensätzlicher kaum sein könnte: ländliche Idylle und Partymeile, lange Sandstrände und eiskalte Gebirgsflüsse im urwüchsigem Hinterland, uralte Ruinen und moderne Hotelanlagen - hier trifft sich Orient und Europa auf engstem Raum!
Alanya liegt etwa 130 km südöstlich der Provinzhauptstadt sowie des Flughafens Antalya und 40km vom Flughafen Gazipaşa entfern. Die Stadt nimmt das südlichste Ende der Touristenhochburgen entlang der endlosen Sandstrände der Türkischen Riviera ein, was sie zum idealen Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die "ursprüngliche" Türkei macht, ohne dass man aufdie gut ausgebaute Infrastruktur der gut erschlossenen Küstenstädte verzichten muss. Die Stadt befindet sich auf einer kleinen Halbinsel, wo sich im Norden die Taurus Berge und im Süden das Mittelmeer erstreckt.
Alanya ist mit seinen bewundernswerten Stränden, modernen Hotels und Pensionen, unzähligen Fischrestaurants, Kaffeehäusern, Clubs und Bars ein äusserst attraktives Urlaubsgebiet. Die Kaffeehäuser, die den Hafen umgeben, sind die populärsten Treffpunkte der Touristen und Einwohner. Vom Park beginnend, längs des Hafens liegen kleine Geschäfte nebeneinander, in denen Handarbeiten, Lederwaren, Schmuck, Taschen und mit bunten Farben bemalte Kürbisse verkauft werden. In dieser Region befinden sich neben drei Stränden, die mit der Blauen Flagge ausgezeichnet sind, die Damlataş Tropfsteinhöhle (Stalaktitengrotte), das Archäologie und Ethnologie Museum, die Dim Höhle, die Phosphor Höhle, die Kızlar und Aşıklar Höhlen.
